Description
Delta pheromone traps for leek moth (Acrolepiopsis assectella) are designed to monitor population dynamics throughout the season.
Although their use is not mandatory, leek moth typically has 2 to 3 flight periods per season in Quebec. Installing pheromone traps allows you to accurately confirm arrival periods in your region and anticipate activity peaks, helping you intervene at the optimal time.
As soon as the first adults are detected in pheromone traps, it is recommended to introduce Tricho-Gard® – Alliums cards to properly target the egg-laying period and maximize the effectiveness of Trichogramma on leek moth eggs. Regular monitoring with these traps allows you to effectively synchronize predator releases and, over time, better anticipate arrival periods in your region, as flight timing may vary depending on local conditions.
Recommended Material
The quantity of materials required varies depending on the number of fields, field size, and crop (garlic or leek), due to differences in season length and the number of pest generations.
Plan for 2 Delta traps per site (small to medium-sized fields), and 3 to 4 traps per hectare for larger areas to ensure adequate coverage.
