Product description

Description

The banker plant technique is a popular approach for greenhouses to maintain stable populations of beneficial insects such as the parasitoid wasp Aphidius colemani and the aphid predatory midge, Aphidoletes aphidymyza. This system requires rearing cereal aphids (Rhopalosiphum padi) on organic barley plants that are then placed in the greenhouse; most spring vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers grown inside can also support this strategy.
