Product description

Description

Tricho-Mix® is a natural product used to control caterpillars that cause damage to vegetable, ornamental, herb and cannabis crops. Each Tricho-Mix card contains Trichogramma pupae – Trichogramma brassicae, Trichogramma ostriniae, and Trichogramma minutum – tiny parasitoid wasps targeting butterfly eggs.

The combination of these three species allows for a broader action against butterfly eggs. Once Tricho-Mix® cards are installed, trichogrammas emerge within 2 to 5 days, depending on environmental conditions. Once emerged and mated, females actively seek out butterfly eggs to lay their own eggs in them. The trichogramma larva develops inside the egg and feeds on the embryo, thereby preventing the hatching of defoliating caterpillars.
