Product description

Description

Nematodes Mined contains entomopathogenic nematodes are powerful microscopic bioresources for controlling soil-dwelling pests. Effective observation of these organisms, which are only 0.4 to 1.5 mm long, requires a magnification of 20x. When they enter the host insect through the pest’s mouth or respiratory/anal openings, they attack violently as these small predators spread a bacteria, which cause the host death within 24-48 hours following infection. They are especially effective when introduced in spring or autumn, when larval populations can be particularly endangered.

Application Instructions

Before starting the application of Nematodes Mined, it is essential to verify the viability of the beneficial nematodes. This can be done by placing a small quantity of the mixture in a transparent plastic bag, such as a ziplock bag, and examining the nematodes using a 20X magnifying lens. Live nematodes, which range in size from 0.4 to 1.5 mm, will squirm or have an “S” shape, while dead nematodes will be motionless and straight.

To apply nematodes, conventional application equipment like tank sprayers, backpack sprayers, and injection irrigation systems can be used.

Make sure to water the substrate thoroughly before treatment and ensure that it is well-moistened. Avoid applying on a sunny day, and do not mix with fertilizers and pesticides. Before adding the nematodes, clean the tank thoroughly to remove any pesticide residue. Remove the sprayer filters, and apply immediately after preparation as the nematode mixture does not keep. Lastly, keep the mixture agitated.
