Product description

Description

Lindorus lophanthae, also known as the “Scale Destroyer,” is an insect with remarkable abilities. Small in size (2-3 mm), its black, hairy body with an orange thorax, adult females can lay hundreds of eggs that will develop into larvae over a period of three weeks. Obviously, optimal temperatures should be between 20 and 30°C and humidity levels should be above 60%. This beneficial predatory species primarily feeds on scale insects that damage trees and shrubs.

Targeted crops

  • Citrus
  • Indoor landscaping
  • Greenhouses
  • Orchards

Targeted pests

  • Pest mites
  • Armoured scales
  • Mealybugs
  • Caterpillar eggs

Application Instructions

Even at temperatures as low as 5°C (41°F), Lindorus remains a voracious predator of scales and aphids, but their activity peaks between 20 and 30°C (68-86˚F). Thanks to their ability to target both hard scales and soft-bodied pests, these beetles are essential elements of any pest management plan.

Storage Instructions

For best results, disperse upon receipt. Do not freeze or refrigerate.
