Biological control is rarely about a single beneficial organism. Pest pressure changes, crop conditions vary, and different predators can play complementary roles within the same IPM program.
This is why Anatis Guard Series features expert-developed, ready-to-use blends of carefully selected biological control agents, designed around how they perform together in the crop. Each combination is built to provide complementary activity and support:
The Anatis Guard Series is designed to address pests where they occur throughout the crop, while taking into account how beneficial organisms perform in different crop environments. Rather than relying on a single predator or a one-size-fits-all approach, each Guard blend is developed by our biological control experts to play a specific role within a broader IPM strategy.
Amblyseius swirskii + Neoseiulus californicus
Supports biological control in the upper canopy, targeting thrips, whiteflies and spider mites under warmer growing conditions.
Amblyseius andersoni + Neoseiulus californicus
Supports biological control in the upper canopy, targeting thrips, whiteflies and spider mites during cooler production periods.
Neoseiulus californicus + Phytoseiulus persimilis
Strengthens spider mite management through the mid-canopy by combining preventive establishment with rapid suppression of active colonies.
Neoseiulus fallacis + Phytoseiulus persimilis
Provides complementary spider mite control through the mid-canopy and is particularly well suited to IPM programs where compatible pesticides are used more frequently.
Gaeolaelaps gillespiei + Stratiolaelaps scimitus
Extends biological control below the canopy with complementary predatory mites active in the growing media.
Gaeolaelaps gillespiei + Stratiolaelaps scimitus + Dalotia coriaria
Combines predatory mites with a rove beetle for broader biological control of soil-dwelling pest stages in the growing media.

The Anatis Guard Series is built to fit real crop conditions, with complementary solutions designed for every level of the crop.
That flexibility makes the Guard Series especially valuable when:

Yes. Guard Series products are designed to serve complementary roles within a broader biological control strategy. Different blends can target different areas of the crop and different pest pressures, helping growers build more complete biological control throughout the production system.
The most appropriate combination depends on the pests present, crop conditions, existing beneficial populations and overall IPM program.
It depends on the blend. Some Guard Series products are designed primarily for preventive establishment and early intervention, while others combine adaptable predators with specialists capable of rapidly suppressing active pest populations.
A Guard Series strategy can therefore support both prevention and active pest management, depending on the products selected and the level of pest pressure.
Interactions between beneficial organisms can occur naturally in a crop. Guard Series blends, however, are intentionally developed by Anatis biological control experts to combine species with complementary roles, feeding behaviours and crop preferences.
Each combination is evaluated based on how the organisms establish, move through the crop, respond to pest pressure and perform under the conditions in which the blend is intended to be used. The goal is not simply to place multiple beneficials together, but to build combinations that complement one another within a broader IPM strategy.
When selected and applied appropriately, Guard Series blends can provide broader and more consistent pest management than relying on a single biological control agent alone.
The right Guard depends on the target pest, crop, pest pressure, environmental conditions and pesticide program.
SpiderGuard™ is designed specifically for spider mite management, while PolyGuard™ provides broader canopy protection against thrips, whiteflies and spider mites. DuoGuard™ and TrioGuard™ extend biological control into the growing media against soil-dwelling pest stages.
Within some Guard families, different formulations are available for specific production conditions. An Anatis technical consultant can help determine the most appropriate blend or combination for your crop.
Yes. Predatory mites differ in their temperature, humidity and crop preferences, so environmental conditions can influence establishment and performance.
For example, PolyGuard™ Summer and Winter use different predatory mite combinations to better match seasonal growing conditions, while SpiderGuard™ Flex and Ace are designed for different IPM situations.
Choosing a blend that fits the crop environment is an important part of a successful biological control program.
Yes. Guard Series products can be incorporated into broader IPM programs that include compatible predatory insects, parasitoids, nematodes and other biological control agents.
The best combination depends on the pest complex and crop. Regular scouting helps determine whether additional biological control agents are needed to target pest stages or areas of the crop not covered by the selected Guard blend.
Many Guard Series products can be integrated into IPM programs that include compatible pesticides, but compatibility varies by beneficial species, active ingredient and residual activity.
Always verify pesticide compatibility and recommended waiting periods before application. Some blends, such as SpiderGuard™ Ace, may be better suited to programs where compatible pesticides are used more frequently.
