Coleomegilla maculata, commonly known as the Pink-Spotted Lady Beetle, is a native North American beneficial insect and an effective generalist predator widely used in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
Both larvae and adults actively feed on aphids and other small, soft-bodied insects, contributing to rapid suppression of pest populations in a wide range of crops. Unlike many other lady beetle species, C. maculata can survive on plant pollen when prey is scarce, allowing it to establish and persist in crops over time.
